Whoa!

Yesterday. This was refreshing for such warm humid weather :)

Changes

My wife has been at best elusive about our adventures ... lemme clarify

Early June was filled with major reflexions
Last week-end we headed to 'our' yearly district convention in Cornwall
Well wasn't really 'our' assembly was my parents but we tagged along
Was great family time ... I jumped into my uncle Abner shoes
And tried to act not worried when my nephew and niece would run together
Looking like they were gonna both trip on each other and fall
I love how they are able to say my name when most adults can't HA!

As I said before, I was in reflexion. About what?
Our plans as a family (Sandra & I)
Different possibilities were explored ...
Suddenly an idea come so clear to me ... made sense it's gonna be tough
But changes need to be made ... and I'm very excited

Growing up in lower est. Montreal (Hochelaga Maisonneuve)
I sometimes walk on certain streets and remember being a too tall for my age kid
In service with mom around Ontario street, heading to Frontenac Library or Provigo
I still live in that part of town probably due to my childhood memories
And it was hard to let go - I can only imagine how hard it was for our parents
(us ... immigrants' kids) to leave the streets they walked as kids behind
Some never were able to go back ... the memories only they have
Only in the new system they will see them again
But because they had the courage to explore new countries
Their kids were able to have memories of their own

Now with my wife, we will explore new streets
Many cities are in the running we are open minded
Our focus is to make sure that our spiritual food gets to us clearly
And that we can preach to our fellow man regularly

This is in no way a short term plan
Many cities are in the running
Depending on the eagerness of immigration services
Next fall I will start a chain of events which will
Make California my new home ... hopefully

Thanks jazz festival for making the streets of down town so alive during Summer.

hot diggity

It's very warm today. Its rainy, humid and it just stinks-- stinks as in, I am not enjoying it very much. I'm wearing a tank top, a summery skirt, I'm barefoot and this laptop is a bit too warm on my lap.  I don't have a picture for this post. I know that posts are always better when there are pictures involved... please forgive me but its just that I'm a bit camera shy. I am not wearing any make-up (it would probably just melt anyway) and my hair, well its seen better days. I just don't feel like getting all gussied up in this yucky weather. So aside from this funky weather, everything else is okay. Thought you might want to know what the weather is like. Oh, side note, yesterday we experienced a small earthquake... I didn't even feel it. Well, thats all for now. Till next time.

Love,
 Sandra

Congratulations to my nephew Nathan 1! 0! - 1! 0! - 1! 0!

You'll Love It...Longtime

Let us share with you an amazing recipe for oatmeal. You are probably wondering how oatmeal can possibly be amazing. Well, it's true for us and we'll be a bit bold and say that you will think so too. We got this recipe from one of our new favorite blogs Kath Eats Real Food.  And also check out this link to read a little about how oatmeal is our friend.  We made it once, loved it! Now we have it quite often because it's...yes, amazing. And hey, it lowers our LDL cholesterol without lowering our HDL cholesterol, which is a good thing. If you use the flax, that too is super good for fighting bad cholesterol...awesome, right?  And we highly recommend Mara Natha almond butter- its so tasty! We have tried different types of almond butter but after seeing this almond butter somewhere on Kath's blog, we gave it a shot... sure it was a bit on the pricey side but we are def' sticking to this one...so yummy. We dare you to only make it once. It's way easier and faster to make this, then banana nut bread. We both feel it's not only yummy but  smells yummy too! You'll find the handy dandy how to video under the pictures of our very own "Kath Oatmeal" snapshots.

Much Love, Los Charles
Go Lakers!

Our first time making it. Sans nuts and we only had natural peanut butter
Now we have all the ingredients!
We found this the other day. Its good.

We don't ever measure to have equal portions.

Here Comes The Sun...Kinda

The weather lately reminds me so much of Summer in Mexico..well the Western Pacific Part anyway. Most days there will be some pretty thick dark clouds all clustered in one area with a bit of sunshine peaking through in some areas, and somewhat warm not hot. Sometimes its windy so its not really warm, its nice and cool but never cold. And then rain complete with thunder and lightning... it never lasts very long and its usually in the morning or in the evening. Its kinda neat to see the rain falling in a  cloudy circle area and nowhere else. Sometimes the clouds will move right over downtown and so around downtown it's nice and clear, yet you cant see the downtown buildings, it looks like fog...only its rain. I don't think it will rain today, the skies look pretty blue all around. And on the days its very hot, its also very humid but we haven't had too many of those. I have a feeling I will be getting my fair share of mosquito bites when we begin to have more hot humid weather, just like in beautiful Mexico.  The pictures I added are from this past Saturday.
