Strawberry Cobbler...whaaaat?

I took a million pictures of the strawberries. I like this one.

Strawberries,Blackbarries,Raspberries, they're all still on (super) sale right now...So we buy. We buy and buy. They are huge these strawberries...and delicious. Since our kitchen looks like a berries packaging place-there's so many- I come up with ways to enjoy. Today, it was cobbler- I experimented.

And might I say it was one of the BEST experiments I have come up with..I come up with quite a few that are not so great- like a couscous dessert fail...eeeesh. I don't post those.
Have a great weekend!

Do you think you might want to try my "successful" experiment? If you answered  yes...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is the recipe for my fantastical *strawberry cobbler (experiment)... for serious strawberry fans...
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced
  • Flour about 1 c.   (I never measure when I experiment).
  • Butter,or margarine (melt it).
  • Sugar about 1/4 c. ( I used brown because its what I had).
  • Oats about 1/2 c.(You know, for oatmeal and nstant is what I used).
  • Salt 1/4 tsp? Maybe. Anyway, a dash of salt.
  • Baking powder 1/4 tsp.
Directions:
Preheat oven to 365
Combine flour, oats, sugar, baking powder and salt. Spread 1/2 of that flour mixture over the bottom of a baking dish and drizzle butter over it..don't be shy, make sure it thoroughly covers the mixture and then place strawberries sprinkling a little bit of sugar over them. Now for the rest of the flour mixture over the strawberries and drizzle generously with butter. Place in 365 oven for about 15min. You will see the strawberries bubbling.

Would be awesome with I scoop of  ice cream- of course!
Its a sinch...why do you think I call it fantastical!

* I didn't use much flour and I used whole wheat. I used oatmeal to make up for not using so much flour.  I am sure I didn't use 1 cup of flour since the bottom layer was very thin... actually the top was only a little thicker than the bottom layer. I also didn't use much sugar but if you are going to use more flour, then you may want to use more than a 1/4 c. sugar. This cobbler was mostly berries. So basically this recipe is your guide, you can play with the measurements or the ingredients. Just have fun with it.
